How to Grow your Business Using New Channels

The customers who know your products and services swear by them, so you may want to consider ways to increase your exposure to new prospects.  Your solution doesn’t require retooling the warehouse or reworking your top-selling widget; it’s all about increasing and improving your sales channels. Turn your weak traffic flow into a highway full of happy customers and you’ll learn how to grow your business in no time.

Wondering how to get started? Review these channel suggestions and consider implementing the ones that suit your needs.

Mastering Internet sales: Okay, so you have a web store (and that is a great place to start), but what about these supporting channels? Do you have a way to respond immediately to potential customers’ questions? Running a business from 9am to 5pm only is going to limit your sales. You might want to transition sales brochures and informational pamphlets to downloadable PDF files, so that visitors to your site can access them whenever they like.

The informational sales representative: What would happen if every customer that called you had the opportunity to seek advice from a knowledgeable sales person? You must reproduce yourself and provide your clients with access to what you know. Even if you can only offer “expert advice” a few days a week, consider making a “guru” available through classes, webinars or even phone consulting.

Wholesale sales channels: You may never have considered this idea, but perhaps you should–a wholesale channel. Make a list of vendors who might benefit from buying your products at a wholesale price. This channel could prove to be a lucrative niche.

A new location: There’s no denying that this is a risky move, but expanding your business to a new location can do many things for a business. If this new channel is successful, you could see an increase in your sales across the board. Additional store locations can place you in a wider customer pool.  Make sure that you do your homework before opening new locations.

Remember, running a business successfully does not need to be complicated.  Keep it simple!
